“With the help of wedding planner Laice Bollen of LB Styling, the couple put their ceremony together, choosing the manicured gardens of Bowral’s Hopewood House for the main event.
“Sara and Laice proved to be the duo of our dreams, making everything happen and avoiding anything close to a groom or bridezilla moment. In fact we found ourselves the opposite of stressed on the day—present and able to just make the most of every single moment”

First we chose the venue Somerley House (Bowral has a special place in our hearts.) Then we quickly realised that pulling all the elements of a wedding together by ourselves was something we needed help with. We spoke with Laice and Doug from PlaCe of LB and it was the best decision we made”

“The brief for wedding planner and close friend Laice Bollen, then, was for a left-field ceremony—something memorable, slightly avant-garde, but ultimately, uniquely theirs. “Laice and I thrived on creating something that had never been seen before,” Bianka says, “and that’s how the idea for a ‘Love Party’ came to life.”

“It was important to get the vision right and ensure we could work collaboratively. Laice and Doug made sure our weekend was perfect. No task was ever too hard for them, any challenge became a laugh. I found them both refreshing to work with, and out of it, Sam and I made two beautiful new friends.”

“It’s quirky, it’s outrageous and unconventional,” says Lillian, “and we like to think of ourselves in just the same way.” True to Lillian’s designer instinct, the styling was tailor-made for the venue. Everything from the colour scheme to the food and drinks were directed by the couple along with wedding planner Laice Bollen from LB Styling.”

“Planning the celebration with a series of mood boards and Excel spreadsheets, Laice confirms she and Doug made every decision regarding the big day together. “We worked very well as a team,” she told Vogue..”

A lot of our inquiries start with, ‘I want something that’s unique. Can you help?’ ” says Bollen, who was a retail visual merchandiser in a previous life and pivoted to event planning after enjoying the process of organising her own wedding.

“And every event we do, we try to make it unique, if possible. People are not coming to us for something that is traditional..”
